What is Next for Jan Blachowicz After Losing the Belt at UFC 267?

Earlier today, Jan Blachowicz lost to Glover Teixeira due to submission. It was terrible for Jan, but Glover’s dream came true. A lot of people are questioning what could possibly be next for Jan Blachowicz. Here is my theory.

My theory is that Jan Blachowicz with fight Anthony Smith. Jiri Prochazka already deserves a title shot with only 2 fights in the UFC, so I think it will sort of be an interim champ situation. I think whoever wins the fight between Smith and Blachowicz, will get the next title shot after Jiri. People ask, “What about Aleksander Rakic?” Well, he has been pretty inactive and hasn’t fought since UFC 259 which was March 6th. Typically, if you are a contender for the belt, you shouldn’t be that inactive. Even though Aleksander beat Smith, he has only fought twice since his last loss. While Smith has fought 3 times since his last loss. Even though the person who fights Jan doesn’t necessarily win, I think that Dana White and the matchmakers should think about who would deserve the belt.

I really don’t know. Jan could really fight Rakic or Smith, but I personally think Smith deserves the fight more.
