My Favorite Fighter in Each UFC Weight Class and Why
The UFC has a total of 11 weight classes. Each weight class has many great fighters that are very entertaining to watch. Here are my favorite people in each weight class and why.
Women’s Strawweight
My favorite women’s strawweight fighter is Thug Rose Namajunas simply because she is really fun to watch. Sure, there are many entertaining people in strawweight, but Thug Rose sticks out to me because she couldn’t care less about anything that happens before the fight. Whatever happens before the fight, it doesn’t affect her performance at all. Even if it does, it just makes her fight better than she would have other wise. Before her first fight with Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Joanna kissed her fist and put it on Namajunas’ face. Thug Rose didn’t even flinch when Jedrzejczyk put her fist on Namajunas’ face.
Women’s Flyweight
Women’s flyweight is a little bit different than strawweight. My favorite women’s flyweight fighter is Valentina Shevchenco. The reason my favorite women’s flyweight fighter is Shevchenco is because I love her fighting style. She is clearly the most dominant women’s flyweight champion. Her fighting style is very slick and she is extremely fast. Some people even argue that she beat Amanda Nunes (pound for pound female fighter.)
Women’s Bantamweight and Featherweight
I had to combine these to together because it is Amanda Nunes. With her dominance, there is no arguing that anybody is better than her in her weight classes. In fact, there aren’t even any rankings for women’s Featherweight she is so dominant.
Men’s Flyweight
I know I keep picking champions, but even if Brandon Moreno wasn’t champion, I would pick him. He is really good and super nice. I just can’t pick anyone else because Moreno is just so high up on my list of favorite fighters.
Men’s Bantamweight
My favorite Bantamweight fighter is Cory Sandhagen just because of his knockout of Frankie Edgar. It was just so spectacular that you can’t say it wasn’t top 15 of your favorite KOs
Men’s Featherweight
Max Blessed Holloway. One of the most entertaining fighters to watch. Every single time I watch him fight, I’m excited. Whether he wins or loses, it is almost guaranteed that we will have a fantastic fight.
Men’s Lightweight
Lightweight has some of my favorite fighters in the UFC. Dustin Porier, Justin Gaethje, Conor Mcgreggor, Tony Ferguson. But Tony Ferguson is my favorite. Tony Ferguson is super entertaining to watch and to listen to. Footage was leaked of him punching some wooden figure. As Beneil Dariush said, Tony Ferguson is like a “zombie.”
Men’s Welterweight
Welterweight also has some really good fighters, but I have to pick Jorge Masvidal. Even though he got KO’d recently, I still have to pick him. He is amazing to watch and NOTHING beats his flying knee to Ben Askren. Not only is he entertaining in the octagon, he is entertaining outside of the octagon too.
Men’s Middleweight
My favorite middleweight fighter is Robert Whittaker. He is extremely talented, and I really like his fighting style. Unfortunately, he doesn’t fight very often.
Men’s Light Heavyweight
My favorite Light Heavyweight fighter is Jiri Prochazka. His fighting style is so unique and his hair is fantastic. I think he is going to be the king of highlight reel knockouts.
Men’s Heavyweight
Derrick Lewis is my favorite Heavyweight fighter. This is because he just stands still and in one punch, it could all be over. Even if he is losing a fight, he could still win it because he has one-punch power.
It was hard to pick a favorite for some of these weight classes. I like a lot of the fighters in each of these weight classes. In the end, I picked each of the people above.
