Could the UFC Possibly be Wasting Nate Diaz’s Last Fight on his Contract?

UFC star Nate Diaz is one of the UFC’s main attractions. Nate Diaz has been harassing UFC president Dana White for months. Diaz has recently given the UFC an ultimatum. Nate Diaz said in a tweet that he needs to be given a fight before October or else he would leave the UFC. Yesterday, July 17th, 2022, it was announced that Khamzat Chimaev vs. Nate Diaz was verbally agreed to by both parties. Many people think that Nate Diaz will lose, and he is already a betting underdog. Was the UFC wasting this star’s last fight with somebody he will lose to?

One of the big questions is, will Nate Diaz lose this fight? Although many fans lack confidence in Nate Diaz, statistics prove that he definitely has a better chance of winning than society gives him slack for. Nate Diaz has a 15-6 record in the UFC. Most of the people Nate has lost to were top prospects of the UFC. This list includes Rafael Dos Anjos, Conor McGregor, Leon Edwards, and more.

Yes, this will be a very challenging fight for Nate Diaz, but that does not mean that he cannot win. Nate is known for his ability to be punched very hard and still gain stamina. He is also known for being able to take a lot of damage to the point where a doctor has to step into the octogan to stop the fight. When Khamzat has beat Gilbert Burns, who has almost beat Pound for Pound UFC Fighter Kamaru Usman. This just shows that Khamzat is an extremely talented fighter who can obviously beat Nate.

If and when Nate Diaz decides it is time to leave the UFC or retire, many MMA and UFC fans will be very disappointed. Normally a loss makes a fighter consider retirement as a good option. If Nate Diaz were to lose this fight, it would push him closer to retirement. This means it is closer to the time many MMA fans will be disappointed that one of their favorite fighters is no longer fighting in arguably the best MMA league.

Did the UFC just do this to give Nate a fight so he would not leave them, or did they think that this was the next big fight? Either way, this was a big decision, and it could possibly risk a lot of UFC fans’ loyalty towards the UFC.
